ULTRA Laser Resurfacing Treatment In Ontario

Reveal clearer, brighter, healthier skin with the Cynosure Lutronic Ultra laser.

Soften acne scars, smooth fine lines and wrinkles, and fade everything from sun spots to stubborn facial sun damage. Minimal downtime. All year-round.

What Is the Cynosure Lutronic Ultra Laser?

The Ultra Laser is a 1927 nm non-ablative fractional laser that refreshes the skin from the surface down, without removing layers or requiring long recovery time.

It’s designed for people who want clearer tone, smoother texture, a more radiant complexion, or gentle resurfacing that still delivers meaningful results.

Unlike conventional resurfacing lasers, Ultra uses controlled micro-energy to encourage fresh, healthy skin to appear, making it ideal for pigmentation, dommages causés par le soleil, early signs of aging, and dullness.

And the best part: treatments are quick, customizable, and suitable for a wide range of skin types year-round.

How Ultra Improves Tone, Texture, and Radiance

Cynosure Lutronic Ultra works by creating microscopic thermal zones in the upper layers of the skin.

These zones stimulate new cell turnover and superficial collagen, causing the skin to gradually look brighter, smoother, and more refined over several days.

Skin Concerns the Ultra Laser Can Help Improve

Ultra was designed with versatility in mind. It targets the upper layers of the skin, where sun damage, discoloration, and early texture changes are most visible.

Ultra is effective for treating superficial pigment, including:

  • Sun spots
  • Freckles
  • Taches de vieillesse
  • General sun damage
  • Teint irrégulier
  • Global dyschromia
  • Actinic keratosis (non-hyperkeratotic)

By speeding up cell turnover, it encourages pigmented skin to break apart and exfoliate over several days.

Ultra helps resurface mild textural inconsistencies caused by:

  • Mild acne-related roughness
  • Dry, sun-damaged skin
  • General dullness
  • Enlarged or uneven pores

While Ultra isn’t a deep wrinkle treatment, it can help soften the appearance of:

  • Superficial fine lines
  • Early creasing from sun exposure
  • Mild skin laxity at the surface level

Superficial collagen stimulation improves smoothness and radiance over time.

Most people find the treatment surprisingly tolerable. It  feels warm, with a light prickling sensation, and the discomfort is usually mild. Numbing cream is available if you want it, but most patients don’t end up needing it.

The appointment itself is fast. A Cynosure Ultra session typically takes about 15–20 minutes, depending on the area being treated.

Afterward, there’s very little downtime. You might notice some redness for a few hours and a lingering warm sensation.

Over the next few days (between 3-5 days), the skin can feel a bit dry or slightly sandpapery, and tiny “pepper-like” micro-crusting may appear as the skin naturally flakes off.

You can go back to your normal routine immediately, as long as you follow proper sun-protection guidelines.

Yes. Ultra is safe for most skin tones when used with proper settings.

The energy is superficial and non-ablative, which allows our medical experts to customize treatment intensity to your skin type and concerns.

As long as you follow the pre-treatment sun-avoidance guidelines, Ultra can be performed throughout the year.

Ultra is also considered safe for both dark skin and olive skin tones.

The 1927nm wavelength targets water in the superficial skin layers, not melanin.  That means the Ultra laser doesn’t interact with pigment the way deeper or ablative lasers can, which is why it’s used across a wide range of Fitzpatrick skin types, including people with naturally darker complexions and those with olive skin tone.

Patients notice brighter, fresher skin within the first 5–7 days, once dryness or micro-crusting has resolved.

Pigmentation gradually lightens as the treated areas shed.

There is hardly any downtime with the Cynosure Lutronic Ultra resurfacing laser.

The downtime ranges are determined by the clinician’s selected intensity settings. Patients may have a sunburn-like appearance for a few days following therapy.

In any event, you can return to your usual activities and apply cosmetics 24 hours after treatment.

For best results, most patients require three to four laser skin resurfacing sessions. However, some patients also require numerous sessions.

To keep your skin looking perfect, you should also choose maintenance treatments once or twice a year.

Your skin’s depth, quality, and degree of wrinkles, acne scars, pigmented spots, and other issues will determine how many

Ultra isn’t recommended if you have:

  • Recent sun exposure or sunburned skin
  • Infections cutanées actives
  • Open wounds
  • Cold sores present in the treatment area
  • Photosensitizing medications
  • Certain skin conditions (your consultation clarifies this)

Pregnant or breastfeeding individuals typically postpone laser treatments as well.

  • Gentler than CO₂ or Fraxel, which remove layers of skin and involve longer downtime
  • More powerful than Moxi, which is lighter and more maintenance-focused
  • More resurfacing-focused than pico lasers, which excel at tattoo or deep pigment conditions
  • Faster-healing than microneedling, with no bleeding and minimal discomfort

If you want clear, bright, refreshed skin with very little interruption to your routine, the Ultra laser often ends up being the “just right” choice.

Ultra is known for the way it distributes energy:

  • IntelliTrak™ ensures smooth, consistent movement across the skin
  • Controlled Chaos Technology™ helps avoid hot spots by scattering microbeams intelligently
  • 200 μm microbeam size targets superficial layers where pigmentation and textural changes live
  • Magnetic roller tracking makes treatments fast—often 15–20 minutes

All of this helps create predictable results with minimal post-treatment irritation.

Élite iQ and Cynosure Lutronic Ultra are used for different purposes.

Elite iQ is a laser that targets specific things under the skin, like hair follicles or blood vessels. It uses two types of laser light to treat concerns such as épilation au laser, visible veins, and certain pigment issues. The treatment is focused and precise, and it does not resurface the skin.

Cynosure Lutronic Ultra, on the other hand, is designed to refresh and renew the skin’s surface.
It is a skin resurfacing laser that works on the upper layers of the skin by creating tiny, controlled treatment spots. These help the skin repair itself, improving uneven skin tone, texture, sun damage, and overall glow, with minimal downtime.
