Questions
What is cysteamine?
It is the active ingredient in Cyspera® which acts as an intracellular antioxidant. It is naturally found in foods, with its highest concentration found in human breast milk.
How does Cyspera® work?
By targeting multiple different pathways of melanin biosynthesis (melanogenesis):
It inhibits tyrosinase and peroxidase
Removes the dopaquinone from the pathway.
Reduces the amount of deeper pigment (Eu-melanin) from to stratum cornea to a lighter form of pigment (Pheomelanin).
Inhibits the transfer of melanosomes
How do you apply Cyspera®?
Its best performance has been demonstrated when used regularly (15 minutes once per day). Apply a thin layer on dirty skin (can be on top of makeup). After 15 minutes, remove using gentle cleanser and gently pat dry. Moisturize the area and use SPF (UVA/UVA & Visible light protection) daily.
Intensive phase: Once per day for 16 weeks
Maintenance phase: Twice-weekly, once per day
How soon can results be seen with Cyspera®?
In clinical studies, results were seen as early as 8 weeks with daily use. After 16 weeks of usage, significant improvement in the appearance of skin discoloration has been observed.
How long does a Cyspera® 50g/1.75 oz tube last?
A full pump is about 0.5g. If using ONE pump per day, one tube can last for 100 days, longer than three months.
